The Makati Science High School is an integrated science high school that offers junior high school and senior high school. The junior high school implements the Science and Technology Curriculum while the Senior High School implements the K-12 BEP for Academic track, specifically the STEM strand.
Given the high academic performance of Makati Science students, the school aims to inspire them to take pride in their sense of identity as Filipinos so they realize the value of giving back and paying forward to our country and our people. The faculty, administration and staff, family, and other stakeholders nurture and provide a sense of security to our learners that enables them to become well-rounded individuals who have a deep sense of commitment and empathy.

Our History.
Makati Science High School is a comprehensive public secondary school implementing a Special Science and Technology Curriculum. It was established as Makati College (West) at Mayapis St., San Antonio Village, Makati by then Officer – in – Charge of the Municipality of Makati Jejomar Cabauatan Binay on June 16, 1981, to absorb the elementary graduates from La Paz, Palanan, Pio del Pilar, San Antonio and Francisco Benitez Elementary School which the existing Makati College (then, Makati Polytechnic Community College, now University of Makati) cannot accommodate. It was later renamed Makati West High School. Mrs. Teresita V. Cruz served as its principal (1986 – 1987), followed by Mr. Ruben H. Santos (1987 – 1988).
Through the efforts of Mrs. Teodora A. Tongko, it is principal from 1988 – 1989, Makati West High School, then a locally – funded school was placed under the supervision of the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports on August 21, 1989. Mr. Wilmore c. Moredo then became principal from 1989 – 1991 and Mrs. Juliana B. De Guzman from 1991 – 1999.
It was during the time of Mrs. Juliana B. De Guzman that Makati West High School was renamed as Makati Science High School under the Makati West High School general parents teachers Association Resolution No. 1 s. 1993 and to the Municipal Council of Makati Resolution No. 43 s. 1994 (renaming Makati West High School to Makati Science High School). Makati Science High School implemented a Special Science and technology Curriculum by an endorsement dated May 27, 1994, by then Regional Director Esperanza m. Orlina of the National Capital Region.
On January 25, 1997, the school moved from its old building at Mayapis St., San Antonio Village, to the four-story building at Osias St., in Barangay Poblacion. Mrs. Marichu Gojar and Mrs. Anita V. Javier served as its officers – in – Charge from 1999 to 2001. Mr. Roberto V. Anir from 2001 to 2006. Dr. Divinelinda E. Dela Cruz became its principal from 2006 – 2012. Mrs. Evangelina Neri – Apolinario became its principal in April 2012.
It was during the time of Mrs. Evangelina Neri – Apolinario that on May 2, 2014, the Makati Science High School moved from its old building at Osias St., Poblacion to its present site in Kalayaan Avenue, Barangay Cembo, Makati City. Mr. Samuel C. Bulan became its principal from 2016 – 2018. Presently, the Makati Science High School is led by Mrs. Eden Fredeluces – Samadan effective July 28, 2018.
With its long list of successes and accomplishments and world-class building, Makati Science High School became the nation’s benchmarking destination to local educators and international educators as well.
